1st day Italy – Nouakchott

Departure from Italy for Nouakchott. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay. (Hotel Halima)

2nd day Nouakchott – Ouadane

Departure in the morning for Ouadane, one of the sacred cities for Islam, famous for its essays and libraries, rich in manuscripts that the inhabitants have been able to protect and preserve up to the present day: a historical-cultural heritage of immense value . Lunch on the route, dinner and overnight stay at the Ecolodge Ouadane.

3rd day Ouadane – Guelb el Richad - El Qalauoyia approximately 130 km

In the morning we leave for Guel el Richad, a place famous for its mysterious formation which has not yet been explained: the crater of a meteorite? Perhaps. It is called "the eye of Africa" by the locals. Continue towards El Qalaouyia, interesting for its numerous rock art stations. Camp and bivouac.

4th day El Qalaouyia – El Beyd

We leave in the morning for El Beyd, a small nomad village where there are some prehistoric art stations, a particularly interesting site full of bifaces and a local museum with the largest collection of bifaces in the world! Packed lunch, dinner and bivouac under the stars.

5th day El Beyd – Ouadane

In the morning we visit the rock art stations of El Qualaouia, one of the many examples of rock art that our Saharan predecessors wanted to leave on the desert rocks. In the afternoon return to Ouadane. Accommodation at the Ouadane Eco lodge, dinner and overnight stay.

6th day Ouadane – Chinguetti - Ouadane

Climbing over gentle hills of sand, in a labyrinth of acacias, we reach Chinguetti, one of the seven holy cities of Islam, where an extraordinary heritage of manuscripts is preserved, which the owners have handed down for hundreds of years. Visit one of the libraries then return to Ouadane. Packed lunch, dinner and overnight stay at the Ouadane Eco lodge.

7th day Ouadane – Terjitt – Valle Blanche

In the morning we leave the cliff, completely changing the landscape and set off in the direction of Terjit, an oasis with natural springs, where we stop for a walk and lunch next to the water source. In the afternoon we reach Valle Blanche, a beautiful valley characterized by a cord of dunes and sand of two colours: if the surface is yellow-pink, as soon as you dig a few centimeters the sand becomes white. We camp close to the dunes, from which the sunset is a spectacle that remains in the memory. Camp and bivouac

8th day Valle Blanche – Benichab – Tiwilit

In the morning we leave this landscape once again to reach the ocean: until a few years ago the beach served as a highway for those who wanted to reach the northern border of the country from the capital, until the road from Nouakchott to Nouadibou was asphalted .. We camp for the night close to the dunes that line the sea, in an extraordinary landscape made of sand and water, where the desert meets the ocean. Camp and bivouac.

9th day Tiwilit – Nouakchott

In the morning possibility to swim... then departure for Nouakchott. Visit to the fish market. Hotel accommodation. Dinner and time to rest before transfer to the airport and flight to Italy.
